Boarding Schools in the U.S. have been used by international students as a pathway to higher education for years. Over the last ten years the number of international students enrolled in secondary schools in the U.S. has tripled yielding a strong cohort of savvy international students with U.S. high school diplomas ready to start their university education. These students possess top- notch written and spoken English; have acclimated to living and studying in the U.S.; are academically, artistically and athletically leaders on their campus; and already pay significant tuition fees. In addition, most students already have held an I-20 for several years, so there is seldom an immigration issue when entering a U.S. university
The international student population in the U.S. boarding schools mostly come from a variety of Asian countries such as China, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia and South Korea, but large contingencies also come from strong boarding school markets like Kazakhstan, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia and Turkey.
The East Coast Boarding School tour offers a series of school visits starting in Pennsylvania, continuing onto New Jersey, New York, and ending in Massachusetts. The tour then offers the schools the chance the travel onwards to Toronto Canada to visit premier boarding schools in this city and meet the talented students attending school there. Each visit put the universities in touch with the international student population on campus as well as the some of the domestic population. Meetings with high school counselors are also part of the visits and a typical day will include college fairs, breakfast with counselors and dinner with student groups.
An added bonus of this tour is that we are able to take advantage of the knowledge and expertise of the Linden Boarding School Tours Team. They are extremely familiar with the schools throughout the USA and worldwide, as well as the curricula, students, campuses and facilities.
